What a Marketing Reporting Dashboard Should Answer

A marketing reporting dashboard brings results from your channels into one view and reports them, on a schedule, to the people who need them. A good one answers three questions: what happened, are we on target, and what should we do next. Charts alone answer only the first.

  • CoveredWhat happened

Dashboards across 50+ integrations, and a Weekly Summary with KPI moves, wins and losses.

  • CoveredAre we on target

KPI boards with goal, actual to date, pace and forecast.

  • CoveredWhat to do next

Suggested actions in the Weekly Summary, and alerts between reports.

  • Not coveredBranded client reports

No white-label reports or client portal. Agencies keep a client-reporting tool for that.

Build the View You Need

Start from the Context Summary dashboard, then build custom dashboards for the questions your team asks every week. Custom metrics define the numbers you actually report, and custom groupings and campaign mappings put rows from different platforms under shared names.

Orphex has its own dashboards, so you do not need Looker Studio to report. If Looker Studio already serves other teams, keep it.

Example
Cost per purchase by channelThis month

Google Ads2,310$24.10
Meta2,860$29.40
TikTok650$33.70

What’s in the Weekly Summary

  • A headline and a short summary

The week in a few sentences, for the last completed week in your workspace’s timezone.

  • KPI cards

Each key metric with its move against the previous period.

  • Wins and losses

The notable gains and drops, so the weekly meeting starts in the right place.

  • Suggested actions

What to look at or change next.

  • How it arrives

By email to the workspace’s notification addresses, and in the app as the latest digest. It is not posted to Slack, and it uses no credits.

Targets With Pace, Not Only Totals

KPI boards set a goal per metric for a period, by channel, campaign or another breakdown. Each row shows the goal, actual to date, progress, pace, a forecast for the period and a status.

Metrics where lower is better, such as CPA, are scored the right way round. Boards can repeat, so each new week or month starts with its own targets.

For example: a monthly spend goal for Google Ads shows how much is spent so far, whether you are ahead of or behind pace, and where the month is likely to end.

Example
All channels · last 7 daysvs previous 7 days
Spend$182,400+4%
ROAS3.4+0.3

Alerts Between Reports

A weekly report is too slow for a broken campaign. Custom alerts watch a metric and dimension against a threshold over a window you choose, and fire to email, Slack, WhatsApp or Teams.

Each alert checks yesterday’s data and is sent at its own cadence. It arrives the next morning at the earliest, never before 08:00 workspace time.

Example
OrphexWed 08:15

Alert “Meta CPA above $45” triggered on yesterday’s data.

Campaign: Prospecting Broad · Condition: CPA above $45Yesterday: CPA $58.40, up 41% vs the previous 7 daysTriggered 2 times this weekAsk your assistant why.

Reports in Google Sheets or Slides From Your Assistant

  1. Connect the Orphex MCP

Add Orphex to Claude or ChatGPT and sign in. The connection is bound to one workspace and carries your role.

  2. Ask for the report

For example, last month’s spend and ROAS by channel, as a table or as a deck.

  3. Confirm the preview

Writing to a sheet or a deck is a change, so Orphex shows a preview first. Every change is a preview you confirm, or a second approver confirms if your workspace requires one.

  4. Open the file

The assistant writes into a new or existing Google Sheet, or into a Google Slides deck.

  • E-commerce report

Frequently Asked Questions

What should a digital marketing dashboard include?

Spend, conversions, CPA and ROAS by channel and campaign, set against targets, plus a note of what changed. Add revenue and AOV if you connect a store.

What is the difference between a marketing report and a dashboard?

A dashboard is a view you open whenever you want. A report is a snapshot of a period sent to people. Orphex has both: dashboards in the app and the Weekly Summary by email.

Can I white-label reports for clients?

No. Orphex has no white-label reports or client portal. Agencies use it for analysis and changes, and keep a client-reporting tool for branded reports.

How often does the data refresh?

Each source refreshes on a schedule after the first pull, so updates arrive on a cadence rather than the moment they change. The Weekly Summary covers the last completed week.

Can I schedule reports?

The Weekly Summary is scheduled per workspace. Scheduled exports are available as a quota on your plan.

Do I need Looker Studio?

No. Orphex has its own dashboards. You can still keep Looker Studio for other reporting.
